Turkeys love tasty, nutritious food plots and the insects that use them throughout the spring and summer. Food plots can be as easy or difficult as you’d like them to be, too. Figure out the best location for optimal sunlight and growth, do a soil sample, follow the seeding directions and fertilize if necessary.
Using quality food plot seeds, such as the ones from the Primos Take Out lineup, definitely can help. The Row Crop blend includes oats, soybeans, alfalfa and barley. During seeding, if you desire, you could add some clover into the mix, too for yet another treat.
Once these plots are established, you’ll have great supplemental forage and a big insect hangout for your hens, poults, gobblers and other wildlife to use for months.
