Crossbows just might be the ideal compromise between bow and gun, particularly when it comes to turkey hunting.

You still get the thrill and challenge of up-close bowhunting, but without the need to draw. And with a little help from yours truly, Barnett designed a bow just for that purpose.
The Blackspur’s stock and limbs are decorated with a high-definition camo background highlighted with sharply detailed graphics of turkey feathers and a photo-quality strutting tom on the flight track.
A one-piece skeletonized composite stock and barrel and composite riser all contribute to its minimal 6½-pound weight. That, combined with a narrow 17-inch un-cocked axle-to-axle length and 12½-inch power stroke make for a compact, maneuverable package in the blind or the bushes.
Meanwhile, a proprietary CROSSWIRE string and cable system, high-energy cams, custom composite laminated quad limbs and 150-pound draw weight produce a blistering speed rating of 330 fps — more than adequate for turkeys.
The Blackspur comes with a premium red-dot scope with rheostat controls for light intensity and red or green color options, a 5-1 safety system and detachable quiver with three 20-inch Barnett Custom Carbon arrows.
