The Howards Grove, Wis., Rod and Gun Club helped ring in spring with a bang April 2 and 3, as members guided 12 young hunters during a Learn to Hunt event.

Randy DuMez, Learn to Hunt coordinator for the club, said five youngsters shot gobblers, and three missed. That’s even more impressive considering the cold, wet weather hunters endured that weekend.

Congratulations to all the young hunters, and kudos to their mentors for taking time to introduce youngsters to the spring woods.
