Product Review: Spyderco Endura

Can turkey hunters find some use from the Spyderco Endura?Knife companies are known for coming up with fancy and/or outlandish names. That’s part of the fun of being a knife nut. When I first picked up a Spyderco Endura, I thought it sounded like one of Godzilla’s adversaries in those old monster movies. “Godzilla vs. Endura: The Final Showdown” or some such.

I soon came to learn this knife is not deserving of lampooning. No, it’s every bit as hard-working, dedicated and tough as you. Thousands upon thousands of hunters have discovered the same thing: the Spyderco Endura is a stellar hunting knife. They’ve used it for everything from light field work to dressing out birds. Yep, it’s that versatile.

For me, it boils down to three things:

1) Blade design. Not too big. Not too little. The edge is hungry. Feed it.

2) Handle design. No matter how your hands like to fold in around a knife, you’ll find a comfortable spot.

3) Weight. It’s light because Spyderco took away all that superfluous stuff that doesn’t contribute to the bottom line, which is and always will be cutting.

I’ve given this knife as a gift, that’s how strongly I feel about the Spyderco Endura. Even if you’re not a knife nut like me, click here to check one out.
