Turkey Tip #17: Easy on the Shoulder
Turkey loads can kick like a Missouri mule. However, many new recoil-reducing replacement recoil pads help. Some guns come with such a pad already installed. A cheek pad that attaches to the top of the stock is also helpful for absorbing upward kick. If you still find yourself in pain, consider having a mercury-filled recoil reducer installed in the stock.
