Where do I start? I guess I just throw a stream of consciousness at you, resulting from some lessons I have learned.

Don't move.

Bring toilet paper. Better yet, wet wipes.

Don't move.

Turkeys aren't afraid of turkey calls. Good turkey hunters aren't afraid to make them.

Camo does not have to match.

Don't move.

Call very little, if at all, to a roosted gobbler.

You can live for up to five weeks on snickers, coffee and three hours of sleep a day.

There are no steadfast rules, except the one about not moving.

Welcome TurkeyTracks, to the world of the possessed and obsessed!  Following JPH's footsteps, here's my quicklist:

You still have time to escape....just turn and walk away.  Don't say nobody warned you about catching this affliction!

Don't move....unless you're movin' (I'll let you ponder that one)

Toilet paper is good to have

Good hunters aren't afraid to call,....but there are very definitely turkeys that are afraid of turkey calls! (I thought I might as well go ahead and start another argument here....the one on decoys is winding down)  Image

Camo is good to have

Don't move....unless ya' got to

Call hardly any to a roosted gobbler

Try to sneak a nap and a good meal during the day sometimes....never, ever sleep-in in the mornings!

You can learn to call turkeys....and there are turkeys out there that will come to your calling

Turkeys, and turkey hunters, are unpredictable

Stick around here....if you can put up with the BS, you will learn much about turkey hunting!

Jim

I would suggest that a new hunter go here:

http://www.tomkellyinc.net/catalog/prod ... cfcc00285e

Purchase "A Fork in the Road" by Tom Kelly.  Don't listen to me or any of the other know it alls on this or any other site.  Tom Kelly knows how to hunt turkeys and he will not steer you wrong.  Do what he says and you will find success.  After a couple of years, you will be well enough along to be able to sift the truth from the bull on this and similar sites.  Follow this advice and you might make a pretty good turkey hunter; you will certainly become one sooner.
Why be good when you can B-Mobile or Spin & Strut.
