SNOW??????

Postby retranger » March 26th, 2012, 8:33 am

Yup got up to the ground covered this morning. :o Won't stay long only couple days at the most. Temps are only in the 30's next couple days but then back in the high 40's. Much different than the 70 and 80"s we have had the last week or so. Will be getting out checking areas in a couple weeks.

Now - now don't be using those 4 letter words. There are sensitive turkey hunters on this site. ;)

I took the land owners son hunting last Sunday for youth season, it snowed all morning. I was joking about school being canceled on Monday when we were walking out of the field. It snowed all night, and school was canceled...

Despite the snow, we heard 5 gobblers; they started gobbling at 5:45 and didn't stop until about 7. I talked to hen, as she made her way over the two mature birds following her gobbled their brains out. As she got closer to us, the two mature birds drifted off to a far corner of the pasture and disappeared (still gobbled at my occasional yelp or cutt).
