TURKEY BOWHUNTERS, where R u?

aka buckhuntr15: I am new to this Turkey forum. Just wanted to know how many turkey bowhunters are out there. I get just as excited to hunt turkey as I do the whitetail. I am not an expert, I've been hunting the thunderchicken for years with bow, public land, pressured public land, and have had wonderful moments. I want to increase my success with a bow....... Bowhunters, where are you?

First issue/question: running & gunnin' with a bow, I have trouble with this one. Is it the same as R&G'n with a shotgun? Any adivse?

heres 1, I'm trying this season with a bow. I bought the new magnus bullheads and am biting at the chomps waiting for the season to start.

I'm going to give turkey hunting with my crossbow a try this Spring. I'm not physically able to draw a bow, so crossbow is it. It is legal to bowhunt turkeys on private property on Sundays here in North Carolina and that is the only way to turkey hunt on Sundays here. I am looking forward to being able to hunt both weekend days for a change this year.

Oth77 & cNr, good luck to both. It's a blast. I just shot one at 5 yrds a few days back. Ur hair particles will bolt when u get'em to bow range cNr, what bh are u using?

I'm shooting a G-5 Striker broadhead. I hit quarter-size stickers on my target every time at 30 yards with it. I can't shoot two arrows at the same spot or risk damaging the arrow & broadheads. Looking forward to giving it a go on Sunday.

This is pretty much the same as with a shotgun, but setup is KEY>>> for example with a shotgun you would sit in front of a tree, well with a bow try sitting behind the tree so you have a big object between you and the bird. look for surrounding structures that would allow you to draw when a bird is coming in..
