Multiple bearded birds

Well I killed my first one this year on the last day of season.  A buddy killed one this year that had four.  I also heard tale of one in GA that had eight.  So what causes this?  I have heard bearded hens.  It does have logic since there is genetics on both sides.  I let every bearded hen walk.  So what do you guys say?

congrats on your bird....there have been several multi-bearded record birds taken here in georgia. i will try and get some stats on them.
in all the years of chasing these turkeys, i have only taken two and they both were taken the same year, the first was from kentucky, then the second one was here in georgia the last day of the season....just like a non-typical deer, the genetic make-up, i would think be similar to the genetic make-up of multi-bearded birds. i'm really not sure what causes it.

Shot him at 55 yds I know too far but I will push it on the last day.  SBE, Rhino .673 choke, Federal flight control heavyweight 6's.  Main beard is a paintbrush biggest I have ever killed and was 10 3/4 in.  Second was 5 in and as big as a pencil.  Inch spurs and only weighed 18 lbs.  It was my second bird.
