Hello from a New Turkey Hunter

Postby ct swamphunter » May 3rd, 2008, 2:09 pm

After 18 years of hunting whitetails I have an itch to try my luck at hunting turkey. This will be my first year, our season starts next wednesday May 7th. I have what I need to get started but, I probably will have a few questions from time to time.

I'm looking forward to any and all tips that you all can give.

Welcome to the wornderful world of turkey hunting! I'm sure you'll enjoy it and you may find, like many of us, that it becomes your favorite hunt.

To me, the most important thing to remember is to just have fun and enjoy the hunt.

Good luck this Wednesday.

Thanks,
Clark

The folks on this forum are always willing to answer even the most annoying questions.  They have been really good to me and I'm sure they will be to you.  The advice I got helped me bag a jake on my 1st turkey hunt!  check out the old forum stuff too.  There is a lot of good info there.  Thanks again for everything guys!

Welcome. This will be the first of many years for you I am sure. There will be times when you will ask yourself " Why do I do this?" But when you hear a tom gobble in the early morning you will know. Good luck. Everyone here is a great group of guys Willing to help out. Hunt safely and hope you have a great season.

Welcome CT hope your season goes well. This is my first season also and it seems several other nOObs have had good luck so far this year so I hope that luck streak keeps going.
