We ad a nice hunt in Indiana, but all the ducks came from the swamps here in Western Carolina

yeah id love to shoot a wild rooster melanistic (black) pheasant but id have to go to HAWAII to get any out side of a game farm so thats out the question for me... we only hunt free range or public land... SD, ND, KS, NE, MN all have huntable #s of wild ring neck pheasant for a fair price un guided hunt that is... ?dont know about the guides prices we dont use them with that good looking dog you have you should be able to get on plenty of birds in any of those states...??? also time the hunt so u can hunt waterfowl B4 the you hit the pheasant fields being that in most states there is at least a 10:00am-12:00pm start time for pheasant in most pheasant states... makes for a great mixed bag hunt just bring plenty of ammo!!!

We are palnning a trip to SD this fall to hunt some pheasant, yes we caught some brownies and rainbows that day.

This is a great forum to get lots on knowledge for hunting, getting out in the woods and letting your quarry teach you is the best route though...good luck and I would be glad to answer any questions you may have

love the waterfowl pics. when i cant hunt turkeys im with the ducks. i hunt lake eufaula and mainly shoot puddle birds.(mergansers, wood ducks) but we get some good flyin geese and big ducks every once in a while
