If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes

I took my daughter out yesterday afternoon for her first ever turkey hunt. We got in the woods around 4 pm and spotted 3 jakes in the feild. We circled around them and snuck to the edge about 80 yards from where they fed and called a few times to them.
They didnt pay much attention to us and instead kept on feeding. I was looking at them throught the binoculars and noticed one squatted down on the ground, the other one them came over and mounted it and began to mate with it.
Now I have heard somewhere before that turkeys carry both the female gland and male glands but I have never seen this before. I am certain they where all 3 jakes and not a bearded hen because of the size of the birds and there red heads.
Has anyone ever witnessed this behavior before?

I never heard that turkeys were hermaphrodites, but i guess for the sake of posterity i'll have to do a little research. but most of the time only microorganisms and plants are hermaphrodites. I have seen a bird in a video mount a full strut decoy, but never saw such with my own eyes. Oh yeah, i also just read a small article in field and stream or outdoor life talking about gobblers that were "uninterested" in hen calls.
