Wisconsin Turkey Season

The Wisconsin Season is only 2 days away. Unfortunatley I have the 3rd season so I have to wait 2 more weeks. I also bought the 5th season. The birds here are getting fired up, but they still have tons of hens with them.

You are absolutley correct. I had the oppurtunity to hunt the youth hunt this year (What a great idea). Unit 5, the Toms were with hens ALL DAY LONG!!! Where is your tag for???? My son had a great chance but the Tom did a front flip and flew away. also saw our first bearded hen, found a nice 6 point shed, got to hunt in a snowstorm, had on spittin' & drumming behind some pines,(had a hard time spotting anything due to the snow sticking to the understory) what more could you possibly want.

Hey Gutpiler I hunt in Unit 5 also. I hunt near Loganville. Where abouts are you at?

What a small world this really is, I was at white mound for the youth hunt. My parents live in Baraboo so I always try for a tag down there and visit and hunt. I will be back for the 4th week. I may try a few places closer to Boo. Let me know how your hunt goes and what those turkey's are up to.I also have tags for 45 (sons) and 36(mine).

I called a nice Tom in for my Dad opening morning in zone 14 on public land.

Got an update for you guys. Today a guy that hunts on our land put the smackdown on a nice tom. He had a live hen out in front of him and she called in 2 toms and a jake for him. He shot the biggest tom at 12 yards at 9:30 this morning. 26 pounds, 9 1/2 inch beard and a 1 inch spur.(only had 1 spur)

It would be perfect for a thread like this so more Wisconsin hunters could benefit from your information. Just a suggestion.
