Gobblernut's 2 for 2 !!!

Postby Gobblernut » April 17th, 2008, 9:56 am

WOW!!! Killed my first bird ever 4-16-08 at 6:51 am. Killed #2 this morning at 6:41 am 19lb 11"beard 1" spurs I am absolutetly shocked never dreamed I would be able to kill one in a year much less 2 in 2 days. Between last spring and this years season I've been in the woods a total of 7 times hunting. I guess reading and watching hours of video and hours upon hours of practicing calling has payed off. Or is it just beginners luck.
I'm truly still in shock it's like I'm in a dream i hope I don't wake up..
I would like to thank everyone on this forum who has ever given me one ounce of advice I truly mean that.Thank you all..I have a ton of pics if I can figure out how to get them on here. It keeps saying image to large I shrunk them as small as possible..Any advice..

P.S. One tag left...But really I can't complain if I don't get to fill it...
Greatest hunting in the world.. Turkey!!!!!!! Love it..For life...

Congrats Jimmy.

Sounds like you got to 'em early before they were overcalled to, henned up or pressured much. It won't always be that easy and the birds have a way of humbling even the most experienced hunter. Enjoy the feeling while you can.

Now they got you where they want you Jimmy...hopelessly addicted.  Good luck notching that third tag.

Be careful for when that cold slap of reality hits and one makes you feel stupid, cause that day is coming, like it or not.

Congratulations, Gobblernut.  There's nothing better for a hunter than killin' a turkey fair and square.

Congrats!  What state are you in?  Maybe we should all come over your way and get in on the fun too!  :)

Are you going to keep the tail feathers, beard, and perhaps the wings for decoy use?
