How old?

Postby STEROIDCHICKEN » April 18th, 2008, 3:22 am

this bird looked old just from judging from his legs. the coloration was gone, the scales were gone and looked at the point of rottening. long sharp hooks. this bird was taken this past opening-weekend in kentucky. the beard was brittle. as i cupped my hands around it in a downward motion to measure, long bristles started falling out.

Without seeing the picture, I'm guessing that the rotten-looking legs indicate a POX of some sort.  The bird might have had a disease.

The bird could have possibly had some shot placed in him from another hunter...We killed one last year that had very brittle legs but once we cleaned it we found some shot in his thighs and the meat had turned green from infection.
