Some interesting stats contained in the booklet-
Turkey Hunting by the Numbers
Total number of turkeys harvested in all seasons in 2010: 55,116
Total number of turkey permits available for all seasons in 2010: 321,429
Total number of turkey permits issued for all seasons in 2010: 275,529
Overall success rate for the 2010 spring turkey season: 22.3%
Overall success rate for the 2010 fall turkey season: 12%
These are the total permits issued not the number of licenses sold, a single hunter could have multiple permits. The success rate is based on a percent of permits not the number of hunters.
Then is a hunter who buys 6 permits and shoots 2 turkeys 33% successful or 100%?
If a hunter is average or desires to be average and wants to kill 2 turkeys in the season; does he need to buy 16.67 permits? (16.67 x 12% = 2)
