1ST TURKEY

Postby gutpiler » May 23rd, 2011, 3:44 am

My daughter got her first turkey on the last day of the season. Hunted in dense fog with very little gobbling heard, we set up on an old logging road and let out a few soft yelps when we got a response , i answered him and he gobbled closer , i told my girl to get ready and 5 jakes and 2 Toms materialized out of the fog directly in front of us. I clucked sharply and when he raised his head my daughter could not get a clear shot....after what seemed an eternity they started angleing away from us and my daughter whispered NOW I clucked they stopped and BOOM. 16.86 lbs 9 1/2" beard 7/8 " spurs

Congrats to you and Alyssa! A first gobbler is a one time occasion so I resized the pic for all to see...it only seemed right. Boo-ya!
