well, at the risk of sounding like an old s.o.b., actually you can, it might not be as exciting, your ass may get sore, but it can be done, assuming you hunt easterns, and they act similar to east coast birds, if you've done your homework, and know they are in an area, you can sit and call in an area you have seen them, stay put for a few hours, after an old boy gets lonely [ he's not gobbling cuz he doesn't have to, he's w/ hens ] he may show up silently, if you know where one is roosting, you can hang out at a roost site in the p.m. and intercept one going to roost.....again, it takes more patience than the style of turkey hunting on tv, but if you can slowdown a bit, and you KNOW turkeys are around, you can kill one if they don't gobble.....
