my brother and my best friend jason are gonna be coming with me this spring. is it ok if they join through me? or do they have to be a member on the forum?

 
Alex,....They need to join the forum as members to participate.  That's easy enough....just have them sign up and check in on this sign-up thread.  However, they need to hurry....we're going to shut the sign-ups down very shortly.  They need to understand that we expect them to check in to their teams regularly so we all know they haven't disappeared on us.

jrbsr, (and kawboy,...and gopherlongbeards).  At this point, unless we get several last minute sign-ups, you three will be on the supplemental list for filling in any vacancies created by team members disappearing on their teams.  You may or may not end up on a team when all is said and done.  Keep checking in to see if you have been placed.
