Jig To Help Center Your Soundboard On Your Pedestial

Postby Stoner » January 31st, 2011, 6:30 pm

When making friction calls I would use spring clamps when gluing my soundboard on the pedestal. I had problems with the soundboard cracking or sometimes the soundboard sliding over making contact with the side of the call. I turn a jig on the lathe that fits over the soundboard and keeps it away from the side of the call and allowing you to get the soundboard centered perfectly each time you glue it on the pedestal. I have attached a few photos. Hope this helps some of you all. Stoner

Thanks for all the pictures, Stoner. That jig for your pedestal is a great idea. I'll have to remember that one!
