Great Read about Calls

Postby WillowRidgeCalls » June 12th, 2010, 2:06 pm

This artical was posted on one of the other call sites, It makes for a good read about another call maker. IMO it is becoming a lost art in the way this fine call maker does it. Enjoy [;)].

Scott,

I had heard about Dan Searcy some time ago and recently while reading on another forum, probably the one where you snagged this story, I noticed Dave Ferguson, and very fine call-maker seems to be stepping in to continue this fine, hand made approach--Dan Searcy is one of the big reasons I take a very similar approach to my calls, but also because I just enjoy doing them by hand.

I have one of Dan's calls. A gentelman gave it to me a few years back. Dan made the call for him back in 1969. It's one of the first calls Dan ever made and the oldest I have seen around. Dave Ferguson does make a mighty fine call also and anyone would be proud to own one.
