My latest edition to my collection, box call holder.

Postby customgunsocks » January 5th, 2011, 6:58 am

I use an older full size box call, last time I was out hunting it got pretty wet. So my latest edition to my arsenal is this water repellent pouch and I have a matching pot call pouch for those.

Hey customgunsocks,

First off, I would like to say welcome to the forum! There are a lot of experienced hunters on here willing to give out all sorts of helpful tips and info.

Second, I keep plastic zip-lock bags in my vest just in case I get caught in a downpour so I can put my calls and strikers in for protection from the water. Your "call socks" look much nicer, though! Great idea.

I guess, I'm an old timer.....LOL! I always carry a plastic bread bag or two w/ me. If I get caught in the rain, I put my box call in the bag....that way if you want to use the call you still can, by simply playing the call while still in the bag. You won't get the volumn, but the soft calling is powerful and if you only have a box call, your still able to hunt.
