What to look for on a shell box

Iam just getting into turkey hunting and had a question?I was looking in the wisconsin DNR rules and it said that you cant use a shotgun shell that is over no.4 lead or no.2 steel.So when the box says shot size 4,5 or 6 do I need the 4?ho

Bigger number means smaller shot.
Number 6 shot is smaller than number 4 shot. Forget steel for turkeys it dosen't hit as hard. 4,5,or 6 are the best 3 sizes to use. You want plated lead or one of the heavier than lead tungsten loads that are out there now.

Thanks for the help.That makes sense now before I was wondering why so many were using no.5 and 6 shot.
