Preparing for Fall Season

Just thought I would through this out there.  What are you doing to prepare for fall turkey season other than scouting?

Tootin' on the trumpet
runnin' mental pictures of different ridges 'n' hollers through my walnut
checkin' gear over 'n' over
tootin' on the trumpet
practicing with the double on crows
runnin' the WRC pot call
makin' keekee's with a Primos Double Howler diaphram
and sometimes tootin' on the trumpet.

Nothing yet I better get with the program soon I guess, however we still have 6 weeks to go thanks to the bow hunting lobby and the PGC.

Jon,  I will be heading out on Friday after for a few days upstate PA.  Looking forward to it.  Been a long time since this past May.  Can't wait to take the gun for a walk.  Good Luck to ya!

Thanks Bob Good Luck to ya! I don't know what the mass situation is like at your camp but around ours the acorns came off early and rotted on the trees. There is acorns down everywhere but 95% are bad. Around home they are plentiful. Check your post on the other forum I left you some info. on that new call of yours. [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Jon, I saw that post and had a great laugh..hehe.  The call is a great one and I am proud to have it.  He did an outstanding job with it. Don't listen to Z..that call is legal in Bradford County..I checked

HUH I didn't think Z would stretch the truth I need to keep my eye on him in the future.
I picked up a Lapp call this summer on ebay there was some confusion in the wording from the seller and by bid day I had it confirmed with a good picture of the signature on the call. It was completely over looked and I ended up the only bidder. What a buy.
I called a bird up with it this summer at camp just to try it out. It is a long box mahogany and walnut that Mike made in 2004 and the seller was from NY. State.

Jon, He makes great calls and is a super nice guy.  Spent a lot of time with him this summer and fall.  I just finished writing an article about him and going to submit to PA Turkey Talk, look for it in January. I think they will publish it.  I am bring Mike to the State banquet in January up at State College.  If you go, look us up!
