I could not locate any turkeys on the last day of the fall season, so I went to a spot I call my honey hole and put out a jake and hen decoy. I called intermittently from 7:15. At 10:20 I heard one faint "chuck". To my front and right I saw three red heads in the long grass. Three gobblers came in to my decoys within minutes. I took the last one (12 yards) since the other two were bunched up. This gobbler had a 6 inch beard and 1/2 inch spurs. I have always had good success in the spring and fall just sitting and calling. Some people say I am persistent, my wife says I am too stubborn to give up [:D]
