In answer to your queston...hens lay one egg per day once they start nesting. They do not stay on the nest at this time but usually stay in the area of their nests, especially in the later AM and the PM. Once they have laid the 6th or 7th egg they start staying on nest pretty much full time and the toms start feeling really lonely. You can actually guage your hunting time based on the egg laying cycle. Even though the eggs are laid one per day they all hatch at the same time. Hope this helps.
