pine island wildlife area

hi i'm new to the area and am thinking about trying my luck at pine island for turkey . my question is has anyone had any luck there and is there certain areas you can only hunt ?  my permit is for zone 1 so do you think i should try here or is there better hunting at another public land park? thanks in advance .

I've deer hunted it a long time ago, but then they would only let you in certain areas of it and only a small number of hunters at one time. Don't know about turkey huntin though? Zone 1 has some great public hunting areas. I used to hunt a public down near the town of Cobb that place was loaded full of birds.

I've hunted Pine Island in the spring. But if I were to try it in the fall I would target some of the pin oaks along the river. also you could try knocking on some doors in the area they are pretty receptive to turkey hunters.
