Jim Spencer's article

Postby allaboutshooting » December 5th, 2009, 6:33 pm

I really liked Jim Spencer's article in the latest issue of T&TH. He won't get any flack from me about it.

I enjoy every day I spend in the turkey woods now but also went through the process he described of not knowing what I was doing wrong. It was challenging but the thrill of possibly getting a turkey made me hang in there.

I made the same mistakes over and over. There was very little turkey hunting information available when I started hunting and you were lucky, very lucky, to hear a turkey. Seeing one was a real treat.

I think we do owe it to ourselves and to the turkey to do our very best. We need to pattern our guns, know our limitations and get in shape for the hunt.

Working at it and enjoying it are not mutually exclusive. We can do both. I've always enjoyed things that I can do well and that I've worked hard to learn about.

Good article Jim.

Thanks,
Clark
