if he was talking to me and not comming i would let my buddy sit there and i would try walking away as i was calling. trying to make him think the hen was leaving. if that did not work i would think he had a hen with him and would be sneaking in.. unless i could come back tomarrow and set up on him differently.

When possible I like to back away reset up and soften my calling.  All in the attempt to make the gobbler think the hen is leaving.  At least half the time he comes running in fast without a sound.

I would bring out the ruger 10-22 and make him dinner [:D]
 
Otherwise, I would bump him and set up as if he was going to go back to the strut zone and not call, just ambush.

i know i am bringing up some old decision time stuff,  but i really like these,  makes me think kind of spur of the moment like as if i am right there with ya huntin,  i think in this case i would have tried to edge closer using a low crawl and see if i could figure out what is hanging up this turkey,  is it a fence,  a weed line,  sometimes don't have to be much to hold a turkey up,  sometimes they think they are really all that and think you should come to them.  lol
