Double-sided vs. single sided call

All right you call makers!
 
I have seen these two sided pot calls and have been nervous to ask about them. Why would you have a double sided pot? What are the advantages/disadvantages of these calls?
I find them to look really cool, but to be honest, I don't know anything about them.
Could one of you guys enlighten me?

Well Mike they are a very good call to carry, I don't think there are any disadvantages to having one in your vest. With a double sider you get two sounds out of one call which saves you room in your vest, so you don't have to carry two differant calls. You could carry two calls and have all four playing surfaces covered.

What Scott said is true.  I think you will see more two sided calls as call makers get them figured out.  I have a slate over aluminum and the slate side is a bit lower in pitch but it can get much louder.  The smaller alum surface can do soft clucks and purrs at a higher pitch.  So with a simple move I can be two hens almost instantly without changing strikers.
