Hey all you fellow MN turkey hunters, since the server is down in my office I thought I would post some information on the registered turkey hunting numbers the last couple of years.

Spring hunting results

From what I have seen in a Star Tribune article the estimated population is currently 75,000.  I also found a report from the MNDNR dated December 2006 saying that the 2006 population was 60,000 and the goal was to have 75,000 by 2011 and 100,000 by 2025.  The same report also says that the goal for hunting permits is 50,000 by 2025.
 
This spring there will be 57,000 permits available.  Kind of makes you wonder how things have chnaged so much in the last 3 years.  At least they are changing for the good.[:D]
