I had to chuckle at the picture with the cattle in the background. It brought back my Oklahoma hunt to me. We set up in the edge of a Mesquite thicket in a pasture field after we had spotted the gobblers from the farm road. They did not want to answer calls and the only way I knew they were there and coming was the cows all lined up and were watching the birds. I knew they were watching something and told the outfitter we needed to sit tight for a while. The cows done a great job pointing, as the gobblers moved the cows moved and all I had to do was watch were they were looking. They actually started kind of chasing the birds away and I had to get up and circle them and I was able to cut the birds off, I always knew where they were from watching the cows. Finally they gave up playing tag with the cows and came to me....they should of stayed with the cows, LOL! The outfitter even said he learned something different that day,I told him we eastern boys learn on smart turkeys HaHa.
