Geographic poll of MN turkey hunters

Postby dewey » January 16th, 2009, 6:23 am

Hey everyone, I just thought I would ask where everyone is from and where they go hunting.  I live in Minneapolis and I go hunting just south of Detroit Lakes.

I am just south of St Paul. My group heads for the Red Wing area to hunt.
Of course this is hard. If it was easy everyone would do it. The HARD is what makes it great!

[;)] Bruno from Neenah, WI. been hunting in SW MN near Houston the found this spot near Harmony a few years ago. I love it Archery only hunting, I can sit in my blind & hear the "clip/clop" of the Amish buggies on the roads near by...
NOW that is peace & quiet, that's pricless!

Camp on private land in between St. Charles and Elba just outside the park. Turkeys, trout and morels. Here's to Mauer Bros and the Elba House. Already been down to visit, can't wait to go back down. I'm from Lino Lakes.

Bruno here[:)],

Can't stand the wait ! Anybody no when the MN DNR sends out the turkey tags...
Looks like I will have to pass this year[:(]
I was eliminated last October and I don't think I can look my wife in the eye & tell here that I am going to MN for a week...

If I draw a tag, can I refuse it & if so how does that work? We are having a mild winter here in cheese land only 25" of snow & warm. Last winter we had 60" for the season at this time, makes it a long hard winter on the birds.
