Yesterday I had 3 jakes run off my longbeard before I could pull the trigger [:@]. To day I only heard 2 birds gobble on the roost. One gobbled on the ground and I hit him with some loud sharp cutts from my box call, he answered back I waited 5 min. and I gave him more of the same from my glass call. The whole woods exploded. 3 hens came out and looked at my dekes and started to putt, they busted. 1 flew and the other 2 ran off, I went right into the fighting purrs as they busted. The 3 jakes came out and headed for my strutter, they were almost there when 2 longbeards came out ant ran after them, they were about half way there when 2 more longbeards came at them from across the field at my dekes. The fight was on, feather flew, gobbling, yelping, fightin purrs you name it was happening. 7 Toms after my strutter and each other. This bird never broke strut all the way across the field until he got to the fight, then his days ended. 22#, 10-3/8 beard, 3/4 spurs.
