So it looks as if I'm the only one here.  Any other Florida boys (or Gals) here?  anyone?  Does anybody hunt Osceolas at least?

Swampfox, I don't live in Florida but have hunted Osceolas and loved it.  Hunted the cental region (Osceola Co.) last season.  I could not begin to count all of the jakes we saw.  You should be covered up in 2 year old birds next season, its gonna be something.  Did you all have a good hatch of birds??

Yep! You've found a fellow Florida bird chaser. Only difference, I chase big Easterns in the piney ridges of the Panhandle. However, I have chased those long-legged Osceolas down around Naples and in the north central part of the State a few times.

I have been trying hard to get drawn for the osceola's on Green Swamp West.

No luck yet.

I'm from Fl. too. I will be after 'em in the panhandle though. It's all easterns up here but I have killed some extremely dark ones. They introduced some osceolas here in the 70's. I don't know if these dark birds might be mixed or not.

Live in St. Pete, hunt all over Florida, have a lease in Chiefland, Fl. where I primarily hunt. Lots of birds.

Been after turkeys for a little over a decade, pretty much only osceolas.

Was in Green Swamp East for the opener, never heard so many birds in there in my life. Lots of fun. The water's got em hanging up a bit this year, but you have to go swimming b/c any birds roadside of the wet stuff are either dead now or spooked into the jungle

Born and raised if Florida, I have been in Cedar Key for the last 30 years and hunt the surrounding property. Got a nice a nice Osceola on opening morning, one of the best hunts I ever had. It took me four hours to convince this gobbler to come out for a date with me. He had a ten and a half inch beard and a little over long inch spurs. I primarily use a box call and a turtle shell slate call.

Sure  have,  hunted  around  Frostproof  the  past  couple  of  years.  Had  a  ball.
