How to make a turkey fan via F&S

Postby dewey » March 11th, 2010, 8:51 am

I came across this article in Field and Stream and thought I would post it here for my fellow turkey hunters.

I know that they use the fan method out west in the hills. I personally have not used it here in Wi. I do get the gist of it, and have seen it done a lot on the tube. In fact there is a hunt where Cuz and Mr. Tom Kelly were hunting out west, I think Nebraska, and the guides used it and made a believer out of Cuz. Thanks for sharing...Mike
And there I was...Knee deep in grenade pins..

I read that the other day on the news stand. Looks like a good idea.

I read that in F&S and just checked it out again online.

I've got a question about this statement-

" To take it hunting, fold the fan in half or thirds lengthwise and stuff it in your vest. "

How in the h@ll do you fold a gobbler fan that's been spread out, tacked down and boraxed for two weeks? It didn't make any sense the first time and I'd still like to know what the author is smoking.
