NE PA Here!

Postby slewi » January 27th, 2010, 5:13 am

Hello!

New turkey guy here, hell, new hunter totally here. Getting started late, I'm 40, but I figure I can make up for lost time.

I mean I'm so new, I have to take my hunter ed. course still! They don't start til February PGC told me, so I'm chomping at the bit to get started.

Buying a new piece of camo every week is fun, and it keeps me excited.

Going to get either a Mossberg 500 or 535 this weekend. Not sure which yet.

Well, thanks for stopping by, have a good day!

Hello Steve! And welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of Turkey hunting.

There are a great group of hunters here who enjoy helping out with any questions you might have. I hunt in Fayette county. Your experiancing the best time of being a turkey hunter. The excitment and newness of it. Getting gear. When you get out first day and hear a Tom gobble back at you there will be no turning back. You will be hooked for life.
If it gobbles, runs on gas, or is married to you it will give you trouble!

Hey SWPA!

Yeah, the excitement is awesome, and I can't wait to go out scouting around. I am hoping to hook up with someone in my area to tag along with to learn from, but I am ready to go it alone if I have to. I am trying to absorb all the info I can, but I have found there is no substitute for going out and doing it. I am certainly going to be a fixture around here asking questions...

Just bought my Mossberg 535 with a xx full turkey choke today!
Gotta find someplace to pattern it now though.

Right now I'm living in Allegany county, just south of Pittsburgh. I am from Fayette county and that is where I do my hunting. If you would like to meet up some time for a hunt let me know.
