What to look for on a shell box

Postby bigmark » August 16th, 2009, 1:43 pm

Iam just getting into turkey hunting and had a question?I was looking in the wisconsin DNR rules and it said that you cant use a shotgun shell that is over no.4 lead or no.2 steel. So when the box says shot size 4,5 or 6 do I need the 4?ho

Bigger number means smaller shot.
Number 6 shot is smaller than number 4 shot. Forget steel for turkeys it dosen't hit as hard. 4,5,or 6 are the best 3 sizes to use. You want plated lead or one of the heavier than lead tungsten loads that are out there now.
Theres young school and theres old school.
I'm still in school.

Thanks for the help. That makes sense now before I was wondering why so many were using no.5 and 6 shot.
