Just spent the first eleven days in NY and it was tough. I managed a nice two year old on 5/2 but that was all for four guys. We did see lots of birds but hardly any gobbling. Henned up and happy I guess. When I arrived home in CT I was hopping for revenge but was greeted with lock jaw here also. I hope to salvage the rest of May and put some good experiences in the memeory banks.

Worst year for hearing toms since I started turkey hunting in 1988.  I killed one of two birds worked, but I called in more hens than ever this year.  I hunted 7 out of the first 8 days of the NY season and there wasn't one day that I didn't call in at least one hen into shotgun range.  The DEC need to open the WHOLE state to a two bird fall limit.
