An undisturbed lone Tom in a bean field showed no interest in anything but the beans. My buddy's smirk shined behind his face net. He was confident he was going to win the $20 bet that in the fall gobblers don't gobble or strut. I was out to prove otherwise as I hit a couple of challenge clucks and purrs repeating every 5 minutes as my buddy smirked some more at the unresponsive turkey. All of sudden the tom fanned and puffed his body feathers; immediately I hit him with another challenge call that was answered with a growling gobble and like a heat seeking missile the tom advanced on our position. He pulled up at 20 yds strutted, clucked, purred and gobbled in all his glory. As the smirk moved from my buddy to me; his surprised eyes bugged out as his gun recoiled sealing the deal and making me $20 richer.

))))))) Our Snoopy dances were quite impressive to be sure. 11 1/2" beard but no spurs not even a bump. I scored the biggest of all-- a convert to fall turkey hunting.

charlie
If you agree with me call it fact; if you disagree - call it my opinion.
After all - we are talking turkey.
