maybe turkeys can smell. might be one farted and they are all just trying to clear the airby flappin' .

 
i don't thinks that's true because if turkeys could smell no one would ever kill them[:)]

no i don't think they can smell either,,,just funnin'. but i do think there is something to it . i have never heard anyone say anything about it . but as the buck licks certain bushes and tree limbs , and the song dog will take a leak and scratch up the soil to mark his territory and the red fox prefers to sleep on something elevated, even if it's ever so slight ,,,them big birds stretch and flap for a reason,,,and i for one won't believe it is because they feel stiff and achy . again , last sunday afternoon , one started to stretch and flap ,and before he was finished , most of that flock of 12 did the same in unison.
