I'm going out tomorrow morning. I want to be there by daylight or a little before. But i've noticed some past seasons that they really didn't gobble that much when the weather was cold, like it is now, until the sun came up and warmed things up a bit. But we'll see what happens.
My buddy heard 4 or 5 gobblers yesterday morning in Huntingdon County. He and I went to the same place this morning and didn't hear a thing. Went out this evening to a different area and didn't hear anything. [:o]
Been cutting wood the last two days didn't hear anything Sat. but today they blew it out it lasted for 1/2 hr. I saw 8 birds in the field going in today and 12 comeing back out. 4 birds were long beards and the other 8 is a mixed flock there are 3 gobblers for sure and it is possible they are mostly jakes will take better glass tomorrow.
HI MAK good to see you back in the flock again.
Heard 5 different birds gobble this am. but when I came out of the woods I saw birds in a field there was 17 gobblers and 6 hens never saw that many gobblers in one flock. Hope they stick around but I think the will disperse shortly as they start claiming their territories.

Hi MAK
Saw a real gobbler fight today 12 long beards got at it and some jakes joined the fray what a sight turkeys were going everywhere. It lasted for 30min.before they settled down, the birds were giveing the fighting purr constantly and mixing it up with clucks and cutts it was something to see and hear. Looks like they are starting to get serious now!
