Sound Files Willowridge

Postby charlie elk » January 13th, 2014, 3:28 pm

I've been working with willow trying to get some of his calls sound files up so that guys can hear his calls. I think they work now. Would some of you go here http://www.charlieelk.com/willowridgeca ... und-files/ and let me know if your computer plays the sound? Mine does but that could be because it has cached the files.

Went to the link and found 4 recordings.

First 2 I can hear the calls real good.

Third one I can hardly hear the call and had to turn the sound way up to hear anything.

Fourth one was a little better than the 3rd but still had to turn the sound up.

Sounded like 3 & 4 were done outside with the caller off a ways??

An explanation of what is going on I think would improve the sound files.
As far as this turkey thing......I know enough...to know enough...that I don't know enough

Thanks.
There will be pictures and descriptions. I've had a learning curve on the new WP media posting. On my computer they all sound loud enough probably due to file caching. Number 3 & 4 were recorded outside on an Iphone 50 yards from the mic. They were trying for realism. All the calling was made on Tongue Teasers with different wood combos.

If I remember right the 1st was a maple/pine box, kygobblers call. The 2nd was a maple/cyprus box, Shane's call. 3-4 are your purpleheart/mahogany box. I can't open them so I'm not possitive as too which is which, but I know those were the 4 sound files we sent you.

Oh you guys were at least 100 maybe 150 yards away down in that woody hollow. Considering that 3 & 4 are pretty good. Not sure if my wife can enhance the volume without changing all the tonal qualities. I'll get those re-recorded.

Thanks for checking them out for us guys.

Same for me, The first 2 were loud and clear. The volume was much lower on the last two. Thanks for sharing.

Yep we were sitting just over that little bit of a rise in those pines, it suprised me that his iphone could pick it up that clear at that distance. It shows you guys what they sound like at a distance away from the call, that's what the birds hear 8-) .
