Gopher's teaser

Postby WillowRidgeCalls » December 4th, 2013, 12:58 pm

Just finished this one up for Gopher, It's a purpleheart/yellowheart combo with a cedar striker. She has some loud volume to reach out there for western hunting with some nasty chatter in the rasp for gobbler/jake talkin. Your cutts are sharp n loud, the clucks are spity, it has a wide range of yelps, the kee kees are a soft smooth, a loud mid tone, and a screamin high pitch lost kee. It should cover every bird you need it to.
Thanks for peekin, Scott.

Again very nice Scott. I notice rubbed spots above and below the hole. Different tones?

Yep you got it Steve, the markes below the hole is where you get your highest pitched whistles, for doing your lost kee kees. The hole in the tongue weakens the tongue, so every thing above the hole has a deeper pitch, until you get far enough away from the hole to get the strength back in the wood. The farther you get away from the hole the higher the pitch is and the softer the call plays. You get your volume out of the vibration, so the waekest part of the tongue produces the most volume.
