Apples

Postby WillowRidgeCalls » September 2nd, 2013, 4:50 pm

Pick up 13 bushels of windfall apples today out of the back yard, to send up to Bear Camp tomorrow. These old bones are stiff from all that bending  . Neighbors been over helping themselves to a lot of them for apple pies, told them pick all they want I don't use them for much.

The deer around here wouldn't give you much chance to pick that many apples unless you got there before they did. Picking up thirteen bushels is a whole lot of bending. I think you'd be feeling it even at half your age, Scott.

Before the bigs storm 4 years ago, we had several very nice apple trees. Anything that fell on the ground was gone the next day. I went out one early morning and saw a doe standing on her hind legs muching an apple on a low limb.

Thanks,
Clark
