What's Stuck in the Brain

Postby charlie elk » June 9th, 2013, 1:10 pm

Does anyone get songs stuck in their heads?
Over the years certain folks in my circle complain about some song or verse continuously repeating in their heads which they cannot stop. I never understood, always thinking they had empty spots in their head that needed filling. I thought it never happened to me until--
The other day while driving alone I started yelping with a few clucks...
The season is over so I got my own attention and realized songs of the human kind don't get stuck but those of the turkey do.
Is this normal for us turkey hunters or should I seek help?
Who would you seek help from?
later,
charlie
If you agree with me call it fact; if you disagree - call it my opinion.
After all - we are talking turkey.

I would seek help from a trained professional. Just don't go to a quack!

Thanks,
Clark

P.S. Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Seek help? Heck no! With how proficient you are at killing turkeys the last thing you need is someone to tell you to think of something else.

Why seek help? What sweeter music is there than replaying a hen get worked up and looking for you.
Is it turkey season yet?

Most of the time, I'm really not sure which voices in my head to pay attention to.

I practice calling year 'round and will throw a turkey calling tape or cd in the truck's deck when I'm driving for work. Just like a song that's stuck on my mind, I often replay hunts in my thoughts or try to mimic calling sequences I heard in the woods. One man's crazy is another man's practice, I guess.
