May 13th Tom

Postby eddie234 » May 13th, 2013, 7:10 pm

Well, it was 32 degrees out this morning and I was running late. I made it to my hunting area after first light, I decided to go to a spot I usually hunt later in the mornings. I heard a gobble below me, I sat down and let out a couple yelps and got ready. All of a sudden this big guy pitched out of a tree right behind me, I jumped up, repositioned myself, purred and clucked. He was walking away from me so as soon as I had a clear shot I took it. I to was using a hevi•shot choke I got off Clark along with hevi•shot 6 shot. He dropped in his tracks at about 40 yards.
17.5 pounds, 7/8in spurs, 9 3/4 in spurs.
I was back home by 7am, what a good morning

Cool Eddie.

Sometimes it happens that way, Last Sat, May 11, my buddie's son and I got a double after 30 minutes of hunting. First day, first set up.
