My 2013 Michigan Spring Turkey!

Postby DonMcJr » April 26th, 2013, 8:14 pm

Well yesterday I was in my Tower Blind and shot with my crossbow and now found out I hit him but he ran off...

Here's that Video... >>>>>>

I had major arm Surgery and my Dad pulled back my crossbow and I had one shot...Since I can't pull back my crossbow and Dad wasn't here to do it I took my shotgun out this morning and 4 Hens came in followed by a Longbeard. I was sitting at the base of my Towerblind so I couldn't run the video but I shot and he fell, got up and ran and then I SMOKED and rolled him while he was running!

11 1/8 inch beard and an 1 1/4 and an 1 1/8 Spurs!
Here's the Pics...

Me and my Longbeard...

Gun and Longbeard...

Spurs 1 1/4" and 1 1/8"

11 1/8" Beard...

Great bird and thanks for the compliments on my own hunt. And yes, I should know better that bad weather often leads to "good" turkey (or deer) hunting. I mentioned that I killed a very similar bird last year. Well, I killed that bird following a nasty thunderstorm. Thanks again and happy hunting!

Great job Don!

Sorry I'm late to this party, been real busy. I know you've had a couple rough seasons in a row with crappy luck and this year looked challenging with your surgery. You were due bro...plain and simple.

I scored yesterday and posted in our Team #7 thread.

Once again congrats!

I must have missed this post as well congratulations on the gobbler Don! Good to hear you were able to harvest a turkey dispite your surgery.
