This Able Veteran

Postby allaboutshooting » April 13th, 2013, 2:48 pm

This Able Veteran http://www.thisableveteran.org/ is an organization that we've supported for the last 2 years. It puts veterans together with a dog that can help them cope with the world after military service.

Last night we atteneded a graduation service for 6 veterans and their dogs. There were over 300 in the audience to witness this event. All 6 of these veterans were USMC, 5 from recent wars and 1 from Vietnam.

It was one of the most moving ceremonies that I've witnessed.

Training each dog cost over $25,000.00, all from donations of folks who want to in some small way, pay back these veterans for their service and let them know we care.

Please take a few moments to visit the site. You may know someone who could benefit from what This Able Veteran does.

Thanks,
Clark

Will do. No one deserves our thanks and help than our vets, particularly the wounded warriors.

Looks like a good cause. My nephew is a sheriff deputy. He had a lab when he was a SRO and is now getting a shepard. It is unreal how the training of these dogs cost to train.
