Tag #2...trust the crows!!

Postby 1Morgan » March 24th, 2013, 6:53 pm

Filled my 2nd tag this afternoon. We had bad storms come through overnight and this morning. I hit it as soon as things cleared up. It was still a bit windy but I got after 'em anyway. I got into the hardwoods and settled down and cold called for about 15 minutes. 2 crows came into the bottom and started yacking to my right. I adjusted a bit and continued some soft calling. The white head periscoped up for just a second then down and up came the fan. He was just behind a brush pile, he turned and went out of sight and let me adjust some more. When he came out the other side he was strutting, I moved to get my sights on him and he saw me...up went the head, just high enough over the brush for me to have a perfect shot...BAM!! 3 more tags and 4 weeks to go!! 9" beard, 3/4" spurs, est 18-20 lbs.

Congrats on making it sound so easy :P

Got to love those civilized mid day birds.
If you agree with me call it fact; if you disagree - call it my opinion.
After all - we are talking turkey.
